The calculator covers only the moisture currently held in the room air.

A dehumidifier removes water from air but does not repair leaks, rising damp or failed ventilation.

How to use this in practice

Measure the room and record the operating conditions first. Compare values at the same speed and under similar conditions. A marketed room area is not universal; volume and target airflow are more transparent.

Limitations

Outdoor conditions, building leakage, open doors, ongoing sources and furniture layout can materially change performance.
